Chotrul Düchen
Festival of Miracles
One of the four great merit-multiplying days of the Tibetan calendar. All actions of body, speech, and mind are said to be magnified one hundred million times.
About this event
The fifteen days the
Buddha performed miracles
Chotrul Düchen commemorates the fifteen days during which the Buddha performed miraculous feats to establish confidence in the Dharma — answering challenges from six rival teachers with acts that confounded ordinary understanding.
In Tibetan Buddhism this is one of the four great merit-multiplying days of the year. The positive effects of any practice — meditation, dream yoga, generosity, prayer — are said to be magnified enormously, making it one of the most powerful windows for spiritual deepening.
During these fifteen days, whatever virtuous or non-virtuous actions are performed are multiplied one hundred million times.
